Facing a squad hit hard by injuries and suspensions, Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi had to turn to some of the club’s less experienced players. One standout was 21-year-old Aden McCarthy, who made his Premier Soccer League debut at left-back against Sekhukhune and impressed from the start.

McCarthy’s versatility across the entire backline means he could become a vital player for Chiefs as the season progresses. Nabi praised the youngster’s performance in his first top-flight appearance, telling SuperSport TV, “I want to congratulate Aden McCarthy. It was his first game in the Premier League, and he played very well.”

Chiefs Grab Crucial Point in Tough Away Clash

Despite falling behind early, Chiefs fought back to earn a valuable 1-1 draw, thanks to a late first-half equalizer from Glody Lilepo. This point keeps Chiefs in the running for a spot in the MTN8 competition, with a final home match against Polokwane City set to decide their fate. Polokwane currently lead the race by two points but have already secured their MTN8 place.

Meanwhile, excitement builds as Chiefs ramp up their pursuit of new signing Fiston Mayele to strengthen the squad even further.
