Brazilian forward Arthur Sales joined Mamelodi Sundowns in July 2024 from Belgian side SK Lommel, and he recently spoke about what inspired his move and what he hopes to accomplish with the Tshwane giants.
Why He Chose Sundowns
Sales sees his transfer to Sundowns as a major milestone in his career. He was attracted by the club’s strong ambition and the chance to compete for silverware.
“Signing for Sundowns was a big decision for me. The club has a winning mentality and is always pushing for trophies — that’s the kind of environment I wanted to be in,” he said.
Although he didn’t know much about South African football initially, Sales took time to understand the local game and recognized it as a great platform for growth.
“It’s been a journey of learning and adapting, but I’m fully focused on helping the team succeed,” he added.
