According to an article by Wired, Meta users can have a virtual twin version of themselves by building a character that will be an online assistant.

On the 28th of July Meta announced that AI Studio, their latest AI tool will allow users to build and customise virtual characters of themselves with tailored personalities and traits that resemble their desired specifications – and there will be fewer limitations in line with their safety policies to regulate things such as using other people’s image rather than that of themselves.

This breakthrough advancement will see Meta grow significantly in the race to be the best Tech & AI company ahead of its competitors. Meta AI Studio’s AI Chatbot tool will see these virtual twin assistants compatible with Instagram and can be accessed through WhatsApp Messenger and the web. In the meantime, the rollout will only be available to business users and will start to be available to Meta users in the US in the coming weeks.

These virtual twin assistants can interact with other users via DMs and role-play scenarios, changing how we use and engage on social media. Does this mean these virtual twin assistants will replace how we create and upload content? Like there will no longer be a need to take a picture or video of yourself and upload it, but rather these virtual twin assistants will be the ones posing as us.
