In the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Kaizer Chiefs have all managed to avoid facing each other, following the draw held on Monday.

Each of the three teams progressed to this stage after winning their respective round of 16 matches over the weekend. Kaizer Chiefs triumphed 3-0 over Chippa United, Orlando Pirates secured a 3-1 victory against Baroka, and Mamelodi Sundowns beat Mpeni Home Defenders 2-0 at home.

Ahead of the draw, fans were eagerly anticipating a Chiefs vs. Pirates clash, especially after their recent encounter, which Pirates won thanks to a late penalty from Patrick Maswanganyi. The penalty decision, however, left some Kaizer Chiefs supporters disgruntled.

So, who will Chiefs and Pirates face in the next round of the Nedbank Cup?

Kaizer Chiefs will head to Cape Town to face Stellenbosch FC in the quarter-finals. Chiefs have had the upper hand this season, winning both their home and away encounters against Stellenbosch.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates will meet SuperSport United, who have been struggling recently. Pirates previously eliminated SuperSport from the MTN8 quarter-finals earlier this season.

While Chiefs vs Pirates won’t happen just yet, there is still a possibility of them meeting in the semi-finals or final. Here are the full Nedbank Cup quarter-finals fixtures:

  • Durban City vs Marumo Gallants
  • Mamelodi Sundowns vs Royal AM / Mil / Sekhukhune
  • SuperSport United vs Orlando Pirates
  • Stellenbosch FC vs Kaizer Chiefs
