Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed that he is on the lookout for a top-quality left-back to strengthen his squad.
This comes amid speculation that Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, who has been filling in as a left-back, may be set for a move to Al-Ittihad. Although Ditlhokwe, a left-footed centre-back, has been tried in the left-back role, Chiefs have other options available in that position. Players like Bradley Cross, Edmilson Dove, Bongani Sam, and wing-back Happy Mashiane have all played in the role.

Despite having these alternatives, Nabi stressed the importance of a specialist left-back. He revealed that Chiefs had recently tried to sign Terrence Mashego from Mamelodi Sundowns, but the move didnβt materialize.
With the January transfer window now closed, Nabi will have to make do with the current squad for the remainder of the season. However, he remains confident in his teamβs potential.
βWe feel that, for example, we should have had a left-back who specializes in that role. The player we have there has done well, but it was more of an experiment to see how he would perform,β Nabi stated. βGoing forward, we believe we have the right ingredients to finish the season strong.β
