Mamelodi Sundowns have made it clear theyβre not in the market for a new goalkeeper just yetβJody February is staying for another season.
Despite spending much of the campaign out of the matchday squad, the 28-year-old shot-stopper has earned a one-year contract extension from the DStv Premiership champions.
His agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed the news: βJody February will remain with Mamelodi Sundowns beyond this season. Heβs signed a one-year extension with the club.β
February has seen limited minutes this season, but his camp sees this as a chance to rebuild and push harder for a starting role. βItβs an opportunity for Jody to fight for his place. He got a few chances this season, and thatβs something to build on,β Makaab told FARPost.
He added: βWe also appreciate Sundowns for continuing to back him. Jody is a talented player, and this faith gives him a real chance to prove himself.β
With this move, it looks like Sundowns are happy with their current goalkeeping departmentβat least for now.
