For the second year running, Kaizer Chiefs have missed out on finishing in the Top 8, meaning they’ll have to wait once more for the transfer window to try and turn things around.
Even after bringing in 10 new players last season, Amakhosi couldn’t find enough consistency in the Betway Premiership and ended up ninth on the table.
Over the past couple of years, Chiefs have been linked with some of Africa’s top talents. One player they showed interest in was Stephane Aziz Ki, the 29-year-old midfielder from Yanga.
However, Aziz Ki has now signed with Wydad Casablanca for the upcoming season.

Looking ahead, which players could realistically join Kaizer Chiefs?
Sipho Mbule has been largely overlooked by Mamelodi Sundowns this season and may be on his way out. After reportedly breaching Sekhukhune United’s code of conduct while on loan, he has been sidelined by coach Eric Tinkler.
If Mbule finds himself without a club next season, could Chiefs be ready to seize the opportunity?
Another player with an uncertain future is Peter Shalulile, the Namibian striker from Sundowns. With just six league goals this season and often benched for Arthur Sales, Shalulile might be available—but Chiefs would likely need to invest heavily to bring the club’s top goalscorer to Naturena.
On the other hand, Kaizer Chiefs are also preparing for departures. Ranga Chivaviro’s contract expires next month, and despite a promising start, he hasn’t been able to maintain his form this season.
There’s also speculation about head coach Nasreddine Nabi’s future. Although he led Amakhosi to their first Nedbank Cup triumph in a decade, missing the Top 8 could put his position under review.
