Durban City Football Club has sadly confirmed the passing of their player, Sinamandla Zondi, following a tragic incident on Tuesday night.

The club was in action against Milford FC at Chatsworth Stadium when, in the second half with Durban City trailing 1-0, the game was abruptly halted. Milford FC had scored through Siphosethu Ndlabi’s penalty early in the match.

In light of this devastating loss, the referee called off the match as a sign of respect. Durban City later released a statement confirming Zondi’s passing, sharing heartfelt condolences and remembering him not only as a talented footballer but also as a beloved teammate, friend, and inspiration.

The club expressed their deepest sympathy to Zondi’s family, friends, coaches, and all who were impacted by his untimely passing.
