Tebogo Potsane’s time at Kaizer Chiefs has not lived up to expectations, and with his future now uncertain, an exit seems inevitable.

The 31-year-old winger joined Amakhosi in July 2023 on a three-year contract from Royal AM, and although there were promising signs early under coach Molefi Ntseki, his form dipped, and injuries took their toll.

After making his last appearance for Chiefs in December 2024, it’s reported that Potsane is on his way out of the club. According to sources, he won’t be directly released but will be placed on the transfer list, giving other teams the chance to secure his services.

“The club doesn’t want to let him go for free, so they plan to sell him if there’s any interest,” a source shared with KickOff.

With Kaizer Chiefs looking to overhaul their squad and bring in fresh talent for the upcoming season, Potsane’s departure seems likely. Unlike other players on the brink of release, Potsane still has a year remaining on his contract, which Chiefs hope to cash in on rather than letting him leave without compensation.

“Kaizer Chiefs are focused on trimming the squad while bringing in new players,” the source added, indicating that Potsane could be one of the key departures.
