SUNDOWNS TO RECEIVE HUGE FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP PAYOUT
FIFA confirmed in 2024 that Mamelodi Sundowns will be among the 32 elite clubs competing in the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
The Pretoria-based side will join Al Ahly, Esperance, and Wydad Casablanca as one of four African representatives, a reward for their consistent performances in the CAF Champions League over the past decade.
According to beIN Sports, FIFA has allocated a total of $1 billion (R18 billion) in prize money for all participating teams, with earnings increasing as teams progress. If the amount is divided equally, each club would take home approximately $31.25 million (R572.7 million) just for participating.
