The Springboks are continuing to make waves in the news, even during the off-season.

Eben Etzebeth’s future has been called into question due to concerns surrounding his recovery from a concussion. On the other hand, HandrΓ© Pollard and Siya Kolisi have both been at the center of transfer rumors, with big moves potentially on the horizon.

ETZEBETH’S SPRINGBOKS FUTURE IN DOUBT?

Eben Etzebeth was sidelined in December with a concussion, and two months later, the star lock has yet to return to the field. While some reports initially raised concerns about the possibility of early retirement, those have since been dismissed. Etzebeth’s career is not in jeopardy, and he’s expected to make a major comeback to both the Springboks and the Sharks.

β€œThe Sharks take this injury very seriously and player welfare is our top priority,” the club said in a statement. β€œEben is being managed by concussion specialists and will only be cleared to return once they are fully confident his injury has been resolved.”

KOLISI AND POLLARD IN THE SPOTLIGHT FOR OVERSEAS MOVES

Springboks captain Siya Kolisi has been linked with a potential return to the Stormers, but the Sharks have squashed these rumors, confirming that Kolisi will remain with them for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, HandrΓ© Pollard’s contract with Leicester is set to expire soon, and with numerous clubs interested in his signature, Pollard finds himself in high demand. Over 10 teams are reportedly vying for the services of the Bok flyhalf, with some South African clubs also expressing interest. Currently, it seems the frontrunner for Pollard’s signature is Leicester’s rival team.

The off-season buzz continues as these top players’ futures remain up in the air.
