Kaizer Chiefs will wrap up their 2024/25 campaign this Saturday, hoping to finish on a positive note after a rollercoaster season.
Despite lifting the Nedbank Cupβending a decade-long trophy drought with a thrilling 2-1 victory over rivals Orlando PiratesβAmakhosi struggled to find consistency in the league. With just eight wins from 27 matches, Chiefs currently sit in ninth place.
However, thereβs still something to fight for. A win against Polokwane City in their final fixture could push them into the top eight, securing a place in next seasonβs MTN8 tournament.
Right-back Dillan Solomons offered insight into what heβs learned under head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who took charge earlier in the season. Despite the ups and downs, Solomons credits Nabi for instilling grit and drive in the squad.
βThis seasonβs been tough, no doubt,β Solomons told FARPost. βBut what the coach taught us is to play with more hunger. Sometimes itβs not just about skillβsome games are won through sheer willpower and determination.β
Solomons believes the team has grown stronger through adversity and hopes fans will see a more united and driven Chiefs side next season.
βWeβve learned how to push more as a team. Hopefully, that growth will show on the pitch going forward,β he added.
As Chiefs prepare for one last push in whatβs been a mixed campaign, all eyes will be on whether they can end the season with momentumβand secure their spot among the countryβs elite.
