Even two weeks after the January transfer window closed, the rumour mill around PSL transfers is still buzzing.
For title contenders Orlando Pirates, January was a quiet month, with no new signings, while rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns were more active, securing several key additions to their squads.
PSL Transfer Rumours
Mamelodi Sundownsβ standout player, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, has been at the heart of their impressive 2024/25 campaign, topping the charts in both goals and assists. His standout performances have attracted interest from clubs abroad, sparking speculation that he might make a move at the end of the season.
Orlando Pirates, meanwhile, are growing frustrated in their pursuit of Stellenbosch’s Fawaaz Basadien and are reportedly shifting their focus to fellow Cape Winelands left-back, Omega Mdaka.
Thereβs also talk of Tunisia considering Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi for the national team role, further fueling transfer-related discussions.

Rowan Human Update
Kaizer Chiefs have been keeping a close eye on PSL sensation Rowan Human. The club is reportedly planning for next season and, in addition to looking for a striker, Chiefs are also considering bolstering their midfield. Human, currently with AmaZulu, is said to be one of their targets.
According to SoccerLaduma, “The scouts have been impressed with Humanβs performances and believe he would fit well into the teamβs system. Theyβre reportedly revisiting their interest after an earlier inquiry when he moved from Maritzburg United to AmaZulu.”
Another source confirmed, βThey were interested in him before his move to AmaZulu, and now theyβre once again keen on bringing him in. It will depend on what happens at the end of the season, but both the technical team and scouts are pleased with what theyβve seen so far.β
As the season progresses, it remains to be seen which players will make the move and how these rumoured transfers unfold.
