With the 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign nearing its dramatic conclusion, the race for the league’s top scorer title is intensifying. Strikers across the country are vying for bragging rightsβ€”and one last push could make all the difference.

Last season, Orlando Pirates’ sharpshooter Tshegofatso Mabasa claimed the Golden Boot with 16 goals. However, the all-time record of 25 goalsβ€”set by Collins Mbesuma for Kaizer Chiefs back in 2004/05β€”remains untouched and far from threatened this time around.

Two-Horse Race in the Home Stretch

At this point, it’s shaping up to be a head-to-head battle between Mamelodi Sundowns’ duo Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Iqraam Rayners. Costa currently leads the chart with 13 goals, closely followed by Rayners with 11. With four games still to play, either could snatch the Golden Boot if they find their scoring rhythm in the final stretch.

Who Will Finish on Top?
