Gabadinho Mhango Reflects on the Toughest PSL Defenders He’s Faced

Gabadinho Mhango, who has spent over 12 years in South African football, recently shared his thoughts on some of the toughest defenders he has come up against during his time in the PSL.

Mhango mentioned a number of legendary defenders who left a lasting impression on him. “I faced a lot of tough defenders,” he said. “Players like Tefu Mashamaite, [Eric] Mathoho, Siyabonga Sangweni, Lucky Lekgwathi, Matthew Booth, and even [Thulani] Hlatshwayo when he was at Wits.”

Mhango also reflected on the changes in football over the years: “Back then, you could feel the pressure when you stepped onto the pitch. You knew you were going to face some serious challenges. But nowadays, defenders are not as tough as they used to be. It’s become a bit easier compared to the old days when the pressure was much greater.”
