Shalulile Sets Sights on Club World Cup Success

Mamelodi Sundowns are among the 32 clubs worldwide that have secured a spot in the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup, taking place in the U.S. from June 14 to July 13, 2024. Sundowns, representing Africa along with Al Ahly, Esperance, and Wydad Casablanca, earned their place through consistent strong performances in the CAF Champions League over the years.

Peter Shalulile emphasized that Sundowns are not traveling to simply take part but to compete with purpose. “Our goal is to advance beyond the group stage,” said the Namibian striker. “We don’t enter any competition just to make up the numbers; we want to be a team that others respect and fear.”

The 2024 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup promises to feature some of the best players and clubs globally, and Shalulile is eager to test Sundowns’ mettle against the top-tier teams. “It’s a great opportunity to play against the best, and we are excited and prepared for the challenge,” he added.
