Recent reports from Soccer Laduma reveal that Orlando Pirates are considering potential additions to their squad, with Hungry Lions forward Muzomuhle Khanyi, Chippa United midfielder Sinoxolo Kwayiba, TS Galaxy’s central defender Samukelo Kabini, and Stellenbosch FC left-back Omega Mdaka all linked with moves to the club.
Pirates Suffer Defeat to Sundowns
In their latest match, Orlando Pirates were handed a heavy 4-1 defeat by Mamelodi Sundowns. Goals from Grant Kekana, Lucas Ribeiro (twice), and Teboho Mokoena pushed Sundowns to a dominant nine-point lead in the league standings. Despite some adjustments to the Sundowns lineup, Pirates coach Jose Riveiro kept the same core team from the previous match, with only Thalente Mbatha missing due to suspension.
Riveiro’s Team Choices
According to IDiski Times, former player Mashego commented on Riveiro’s tendency to rely on a consistent starting lineup, only making minimal changes. With key players like Mbatha, Olisa Ndah, and Thabiso Sesane unavailable, Mashego believes that the team fielded against Sundowns was the best possible option available to Riveiro.
