Wydad Athletic Club Targets Mofokeng According to French reports, Wydad Athletic Club has initiated talks with Orlando Pirates for the acquisition of Mofokeng. The Moroccan powerhouse is pushing to secure the 20-year-old attacker ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup later this year. Mofokeng has impressed since his debut two seasons ago, scoring 14 goals and providing 18 assists in 70 appearances for the Buccaneers.

Pirates Linked with Polokwane City Star In other news, Orlando Pirates were also linked with Polokwane City’s Thabang Matuludi during the January transfer window. However, new information has emerged regarding why the deal didn’t go through.

Why Matuludi Didn’t Join Pirates Matuludi, the talented Polokwane City full-back, was set for a move to Mayfair but suffered a significant knee injury in January, causing Pirates to pull back on their interest. An insider explained, “Unfortunately for him, he got injured at the wrong time.” The player is now focusing on recovery, and there is hope that Soweto clubs may revisit a move for him next season once he’s fully fit.
