Nolusindiso Booi, South Africa’s most-capped women’s rugby player, is set to achieve a historic milestone as she plays her 50th Test cap, 15 years after her debut with the Springbok Women’s team against Kazakhstan in 2010.

Ahead of the 2025 season’s first Test against Spain at Campo de Rugby Amorós Palao in Elche on Saturday, Springbok Women’s performance coach Swys de Bruin named a seasoned squad, recognizing Booi’s exceptional contribution to the team.

De Bruin praised Booi for her leadership and dedication, calling her a true role model for the women’s game. “Her humility, selfless service to the team, and focus on what’s best for the group are qualities that make her a remarkable player,” said De Bruin.

He added, “This achievement is monumental for Nolusindiso. She’s been an outstanding leader and a warrior on the field through so many seasons. Reaching 50 caps is a major milestone, almost equivalent to 100 caps in the men’s game, given the fewer Test matches our women play each season.”
