As the season draws to a close, speculation around Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi continues to swirl. While he recently guided Amakhosi to a much-awaited Nedbank Cup victory over Orlando Pirates, his performance in the league has been far from consistent. A disappointing draw against Sekhukhune United has left Chiefs fighting to secure a top-eight finish, further fueling the uncertainty about Nabi’s future at the club.

Although it seems likely that Nabi will remain at the helm as the club looks to stabilize, there are still strong rumors circulating within certain factions of the club, suggesting that his time at Naturena could be coming to an end after what’s been a turbulent season.

Will Nabi Stay or Go?

Following the recent draw, Nabi addressed the ongoing speculation regarding his future at Chiefs. He expressed frustration over the constant rumors about his departure, which have created unnecessary confusion both personally and within his team.

“This news is coming from journalists, not from the club. Why is it always about Nabi, Nabi, Nabi—for what reason? All of Africa seems to think I’m available to coach, but I’m not a free agent,” Nabi said.

The coach went on to call out the lack of professionalism in the way the rumors have been handled, adding, “I respect journalists, but this kind of news about me leaving is damaging. It creates confusion in my team, and it’s simply not true. It’s not professional, and the information is wrong.”

A Key Turning Point Ahead for Nabi

With such mixed reports surrounding his future, Nabi finds himself at a critical juncture. The coming weeks could determine whether he continues to steer the ship at Kaizer Chiefs or if the club decides to make a change.
