Kaizer Chiefs’ debutant, Makabi Lilepo, wasted no time in making an impact, scoring just five minutes into the match against Steve Barker’s side.

Following a busy offseason with seven new signings, the January transfer window was equally eventful for AmaKhosi. It looks like the upcoming winter window will be no different, with some key decisions ahead for the club.

George Matlou’s Future Reports suggest that George Matlou is set to stay with Kaizer Chiefs for another year. A Siya source revealed that although not officially confirmed, the deal is nearly finalized. The club was waiting to see how Matlou performed after his injury, and now, after impressing during training and games, they’ve agreed to offer him a one-year contract extension, with an option for another year.

Edson Castillo’s Potential Move On the other hand, Edson Castillo’s future is less certain. The Venezuelan midfielder, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has attracted interest from Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek FC. Although Chiefs were unwilling to let him go in the past, it now seems he could leave for free as the club has shown little interest in renewing his contract. If Chiefs do not extend his deal, the decision will be in Castillo’s hands, and a move to Zamalek could hinge on discussions between the player and the Egyptian club.
