Kaizer Chiefs are preparing for a busy transfer window and have set their sights on several Mamelodi Sundowns players as they look to strengthen their squad.
According to reports, Amakhosi are keeping tabs on a trio of Sundowns stars — Neo Maema, Terrence Mashego, and Thapelo Maseko. Chiefs have long admired these players and could finally make a move when the window opens.
The strongest link appears to be with Neo Maema, a Bafana Bafana defender currently on Sundowns’ books. With Sundowns expected to trim their squad at the end of the season, Chiefs see this as the perfect opportunity to go after Maema, who has reportedly been on their radar for a while.
An insider revealed, “Chiefs are seriously tracking Maema’s situation. They’ve been watching him closely, and if Sundowns decide to offload him, Chiefs will definitely be ready to make a move.”
Meanwhile, Thapelo Maseko is another player being closely watched by Chiefs’ scouting team. They’re said to be very familiar with his style and what he could add to the team.
“The Chiefs scouts have followed Maseko for some time and are very interested in him. Talks are still in the early stages, but there’s genuine interest,” a source told SoccerLaduma.
With Sundowns potentially offloading players and Chiefs looking to revamp their squad, fans could see some major shifts between the two PSL giants in the coming weeks.
