Kaizer Chiefs have welcomed back Edmilson Dove, a player who was recently de-registered from the squad.

The Mozambican international has “re-joined” the club just a few months after being removed from the roster.

CHIEFS STAR RETURNS

Dove is now officially back in Kaizer Chiefs colors.

Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi will be pleased to have the right-back available for this weekend’s Betway Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns, with the Mozambique international fully recovered from his injury, Chiefs confirmed in a statement.

This means Dove is fit and ready for selection against Sundowns.

Nabi has not been able to call on the experienced defender so far this season after Dove suffered an Achilles tendon rupture during the club’s pre-season training in Turkey, forcing him to return home for surgery.

β€œThe 31-year-old is relieved that his ordeal is over and is eager to return to the pitch and contribute to Amakhosi’s goals for the second half of the season,” the statement added.

Additionally, Dove returns as a fully-registered player for Chiefs. Remember, he was de-registered earlier this season due to the club exceeding the PSL foreign player limit, which allows only five foreign-based players per team.

At the time, Chiefs had six foreign players: Fiacre Ntwari, Inacio Miguel, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Edson Castillo, Christian Saile, and Dove.

As a result, Dove was de-registered to make room for the others.

Now, with Saile having moved to SuperSport United, Dove has been re-registered with Chiefs following his recovery from injury.
