Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly eyeing a move to snatch a top Orlando Pirates target, Muzomuhle Khanyi, from right under their noses. Can they pull it off?

Khanyi in Demand
According to sources, Chiefs have now entered the race for Hungry Lions’ standout striker, Muzomuhle Khanyi, who has been on Pirates’ radar since the start of the season. Khanyi has impressed with his incredible goal-scoring form in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, and both Soweto giants are now keeping a close eye on his situation.

While Pirates have been monitoring the 25-year-old forward for months, Chiefs have recently shown interest, sparking a potential transfer battle between the two clubs.

Khanyi: A Proven Scorer
The talented striker has been a goal-scoring machine in the NFD, even netting a hat-trick in his last outing to further cement his reputation. With Pirates already having a strong forward line featuring Tshegofatso Mabasa and Evidence Makgopa, adding Khanyi could bolster their attack, though Chiefs may also want to add the prolific forward to their squad.

Pirates’ Midfield Woes
In other news, Pirates face a challenge in their midfield before the upcoming clash with Cape Town City on February 22. Midfield general Makhehlene Makhaula is suspended due to a fourth yellow card, leaving coach Jose Riveiro to figure out the right partnership for Kabelo Dlamini. Could Selaelo Rasebotja step in, or will we see a return of Thalente Mbatha? Only time will tell.
