Kaizer Chiefs fans will be very familiar with the name Stephane Aziz Ki — and now the exciting Ivorian playmaker could finally be on his way to Naturena.
Sources close to the club have revealed that head coach Nasreddine Nabi and his assistant Cedric Kaze are pushing to bring the 29-year-old back into their plans after previously working with him at Tanzanian giants Yanga SC. Chiefs had previously been pursuing Feisal Salum, another Tanzanian-based midfielder, but that deal appears to have hit a wall — prompting renewed interest in Aziz Ki.
“Coach Nabi and Kaze know Aziz Ki very well, and they believe he’s the right fit for their attacking needs next season,” a source told Soccer Laduma. “That’s why the club is now revisiting the possibility of signing him.”
But Aziz Ki isn’t the only name on Chiefs’ wishlist. The club is also eyeing up Tshepang Moremi from AmaZulu and young attacking prospect Athini Jodwana from Durban City.
“They’re focusing heavily on strengthening their attack. The feeling in the technical team is that the team plays decent football, but lacks bite in front of goal. By adding more firepower, they believe they can start converting performances into wins,” the source added.
