Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly planning to strengthen their midfield for the upcoming season, with a promising new talent from Africa catching their attention.
Currently, coach Nasreddine Nabi faces a shortage of options behind key midfielders Yusuf Maart and Thabo Cele, prompting the club to explore fresh additions to add depth and competition in the middle of the park.
According to reports from Soccer Laduma, 25-year-old Nigerian midfielder Kingsley Michael, who currently plays for US Monastir in Tunisia, is under serious consideration by the Chiefs’ scouting team.
“Kingsley has been performing impressively in Tunisia, and scouts have been closely watching his progress,” a source revealed. “That’s why he’s back on the Chiefs’ radar as they finalize their targets for next season.”
The club is still finalizing its transfer list but sees Michael as a strong candidate within their budget and recruitment strategy. In fact, Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly increased their transfer budget this winter, signaling a more aggressive approach to securing their priority signings.
“The budget has gone up because the club is determined to land almost all their transfer targets this season,” the insider added. “Bringing Kingsley from Tunisia will require a significant investment, and they’re ready to back that up financially.”
This move shows Kaizer Chiefs’ intent to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for titles, with strategic signings like Kingsley Michael expected to add quality and depth to their midfield lineup.
