Kaizer Chiefs are expected to be more active during the upcoming transfer window. Under Nasreddine Nabi, the club has brought in 10 new players this season, investing over R50 million. Despite the significant spending, Chiefs have struggled with consistency, having lost six league matches so far.

Most of the new signings have shown promise, giving Nabi some solid options for next season. With the transfer window now closed, Chiefs will use the next few months to assess their squad and identify potential additions.

This week, the club confirmed that Edson Castillo’s stay has been extended, putting an end to rumors about his departure. Castillo’s agent, Mauricio Andrade, confirmed the news, stating, “Edson will stay for another season, and there’s an option for another year.”

Andrade also mentioned that Castillo is pleased with the extension, as he’s eager to stay with the club and help them win trophies.

In the past year, Kaizer Chiefs have been linked to a number of players, with 23-year-old Oswin Appollis from Polokwane City being one of the most frequently mentioned. It’s expected that this will be his final season with Rise and Shine, so Chiefs might make a move for him in the next transfer window.

Another player who has caught the club’s attention is Fawaaz Basadien, an experienced left-back from Stellenbosch. With Chiefs needing quality in that position, Basadien could be a key target for them to strengthen their squad.

Additionally, Kenyan football legend Michael Olunga has also been linked with a move to the Soweto giants.
