MALI INTERNATIONAL LINKED TO KAIZER CHIEFS
Reports from Soccer Laduma suggest that Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi is looking to bring in Mali international Djigui Diarra, whom he previously worked with at Young Africans in Tanzania. Diarra, now 30, could be the new addition. Meanwhile, Rwandan international Fiacre Ntwari’s future at the club seems uncertain, as he hasn’t played since November 2024. Bruce Bvuma remains the first-choice goalkeeper, with Brandon Petersen as the backup.
NKOSINGIPHILE NGCOBO TAKES ON NEW ROLE
Coach Nasreddine Nabi has given Nkosiniphile Ngcobo a new position. The 25-year-old has had difficulty securing the number 10 role at Kaizer Chiefs, but last Wednesday, Nabi experimented by placing him in a deeper playmaking role, somewhere between a number six and number eight. Former Kaizer Chiefs player and legend, Willard Katsande, praised Ngcobo’s performance, saying on Instagram: “The few minutes he played were unbelievable. He controlled the tempo of the game very well. Keep it up, my son.”
NASREDDINE NABI DEFENDS NJABULO BLOM
Coach Nabi has created a lot of buzz among the Kaizer Chiefs fans regarding Njabulo Blom’s situation. Despite being a key player for the team, Blom has started less than 10 of 20 league games this season. His most recent match was a tough one, as he was substituted at halftime during the 1-0 win over Magesi FC at FNB Stadium. Nabi defended Blom, stating, “I don’t want to judge the performance of one of my players here [in the media]. We will review the data and videos to understand why he struggled.” He added that the coaching staff recognizes Blom wasn’t at his best during that match but emphasized the importance of reviewing every aspect of his performance using available tools.
