Kaizer Chiefs are expected to have most of their key players available for the upcoming Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates this Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Amakhosi head into the match on the back of a 2-1 loss to Pirates in the recent Soweto Derby, marking their fifth consecutive defeat to their rivals. With this record in mind, Chiefs will need to play their best game of the season to secure the Nedbank Cup.
In their last match, Chiefs were without Miguel Inacio and Wandile Duba. Coach Nasreddine Nabi explained that Thabo Cele came on late due to his recovery from injury, as he hadnβt fully trained and wasnβt fit to start or play the full 90 minutes. Inacio, similarly, was not fully fit after his injury, which kept him from giving his best performance.
Duba, who has been one of Chiefs’ standout players recently, was also absent from the derby due to suspension but will be back for the final. His contributions were crucial in helping Amakhosi reach this stage, and after their semi-final victory over Sundowns, Duba assured Chiefs fans that the team is determined to bring home the Nedbank Cup.
