Kaizer Chiefs are finally on the brink of securing a move for Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum, a player who spent two seasons under coach Nasreddine Nabi at Young Africans. After months of attempts to bring him to Naturena, a reunion between the two seems imminent.
Salum, 27, was one of Nabiβs top targets when he arrived at Kaizer Chiefs last year. However, due to the player’s hefty market value, signing fee, and salary demands, Chiefs couldnβt make the move happen, especially after bringing in seven new players during the offseason.
But thereβs renewed hope for Chiefs now that Salum has confirmed he will not extend his contract with Azam FC, which means he will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Salum Rejects Azam Extension
According to Africafoot.com, Salum has made his decision clear to Azam FC that he will not be renewing his contract. Despite appreciating his time at the Tanzanian club, heβs eager to explore new opportunities come the end of the season.
Though itβs too early to confirm a move to Kaizer Chiefs, the possibility remains very much alive.
Another Midfield Target
Alongside Salum, Kaizer Chiefs are also eyeing AmaZuluβs Rowan Human to strengthen their midfield. Soccer Laduma reports that Chiefs are actively planning for the next season, with a striker and midfield reinforcements high on their list of priorities. Human, who has been impressive at AmaZulu, is now a serious candidate to bolster Chiefsβ midfield options for the upcoming season.
