Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi has expressed confidence in Wandile Duba’s ability to lead the team’s attack for years to come.

Duba, at just 20 years old, has already shown his potential with six goals in 22 appearances this season, becoming one of the few standout performers for Chiefs. Despite his youth, Tsotetsi believes that Duba has the qualities to thrive at the highest level.

“He’s been doing well for Chiefs. Yes, he’s still young, but age shouldn’t be a barrier. The way the coach manages him will be crucial to his development and the team’s success,” Tsotetsi told Soccer Laduma.

Tsotetsi pointed out that Duba’s absence due to injury earlier in the season had left a noticeable gap in the team’s attacking threat. He believes that the young forward’s return has reignited the attack, making him a constant problem for opposing defenders.

“He’s ready to take up the front-line role. His impact since coming back from injury has been clear, as he’s once again been a threat to defenders.”

Duba played a crucial role in Chiefs’ 2-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns, scoring a vital goal that secured their place in the Nedbank Cup final.

“He’s eager to learn and make a name for himself. I think he’s ready to step up. But it’s important he remains humble, stays focused, and works hard to gain more experience,” Tsotetsi added, encouraging the young striker to avoid complacency.
