Fiacre Ntwari’s time at Kaizer Chiefs may be winding down, but the Rwandan goalkeeper is now being eyed for a surprise move to Europe. Despite being pushed down the pecking order at Naturena, Ntwari is reportedly the target of a Ligue 2 club in France, with discussions already underway.

Sources close to the situation have confirmed the interest, revealing that a prominent French side is eager to bring the 25-year-old to Europe, despite his limited first-team appearances at Chiefs. “Yes, there’s interest, and it’s from a Ligue 2 side,” said the source. “They’re a well-established club, even though they’re playing in the lower division.”

Limited Game Time at Chiefs, But International Recognition Remains Strong

Ntwari joined Kaizer Chiefs from TS Galaxy at the start of the season but has made just five appearances in the Betway Premiership. His performances, which have yet to result in a clean sheet, saw him lose his starting spot to Bruce Bvuma. Despite this, Ntwari’s impressive performances for Rwanda have not gone unnoticed. As the country’s first-choice goalkeeper, he has continued to shine on the international stage, catching the eye of scouts in Europe.

A move to Ligue 2 could offer Ntwari the regular playing time he needs to stay match fit, especially with Rwanda’s upcoming international fixtures on the horizon. “The Rwanda national team is also assisting him in finding a club where he can get consistent game time,” the source explained.

Chiefs Face a Dilemma: To Keep or Cash In?

With Ntwari still under contract with Chiefs for another two seasons, the club now faces a tough decision. Should they continue to hold onto a player who isn’t getting regular game time, or should they take advantage of the European interest and consider selling?

“Kaizer Chiefs are weighing their options,” the source added. “This could open up a path for him to move.”

Though no formal offers have been confirmed by the club yet, everything points to the possibility of a transfer in the near future.

A Fresh Start on the Horizon?

As Ntwari contemplates his future, Europe appears to be calling. If the move goes through, he could soon swap the bench at Naturena for a starting spot in one of France’s top leagues.

With Rwanda pushing for the move and European scouts watching closely, this could be the fresh start Ntwari needs to reignite his career—and Kaizer Chiefs will need to make their decision sooner than later.
