Kaizer Chiefs’ goalkeepers β Bruce Bvuma, Brandon Petersen, and Fiacre Ntwari β have yet to fully convince the club they are the ideal trio.
KAIZER CHIEFS CONSIDERING THREE NEW GOALKEEPERS
As reported by Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs is keeping an eye on three goalkeepers: Zambian international Toaster Nsabata, Mali’s Djigui Diarra, and South Africaβs Xolani Ngcobo from Royal AM. While Bvuma is currently the first-choice goalkeeper, with Petersen as the backup, Ntwari seems to be on his way out, as his last appearance for the club was four months ago in a match against Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership.
KAIZER CHIEFS’ NKOSINGIPHILE NGCOBO IN NEW ROLE
Coach Nasreddine Nabi has given Nkosiniphile Ngcobo a new playing role. The 25-year-old has struggled to establish himself in the number 10 position at Kaizer Chiefs, but during their recent match, Nabi shifted him into a deeper playmaking role β between a number six and number eight. Former Chiefs legend Willard Katsande praised Ngcoboβs performance, saying on Instagram, βThe few minutes he played were unbelievable. He controlled the tempo of the game very well. Keep it up, my son.β
NASREDDINE NABI DEFENDS NJABULO BLOM
Coach Nabi has sparked a lot of discussion among Kaizer Chiefs fans with his handling of Njabulo Blom. Despite being a key player, Blom has started fewer than 10 of the 20 league games this season. His most recent match was particularly challenging, as he was substituted at halftime during the 1-0 win over Magesi FC at FNB Stadium. Nabi defended Blom, saying, βI donβt want to judge the performance of one of my players here [in the media]. Weβll review the data and videos to understand why he struggled.β Nabi acknowledged that Blom wasnβt at his best during that game, but assured fans that the coaching staff would carefully analyze every aspect of his performance.
