Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly eyeing two Pyramids FC forwards, Fiston Mayele and South Africaβs Fagrie Lakay, as they look to strengthen their squad with international talent.
Itβs been some time since Fagrie Lakay left the PSL, with the former SuperSport striker making the move to the Egyptian club in the January transfer window of 2022. Despite links suggesting a possible return to South Africa, Chiefs have put more focus on securing Mayele, who is their top priority.
βRight now, there isnβt a specific striker the club can confirm as joining. Fiston Mayele is their main target, but theyβre also keeping options open. If things donβt work out with him, theyβre reigniting interest in Fagrie Lakay,β confirmed Soccer Laduma.
The club has had their eye on Lakay for a while, and the timing might now be right for a move.
A second source added that Kaizer Chiefs are considering all factors before making a decision. βItβs going to come down to what Pyramids are willing to do β which striker will they allow to leave, and which one do they really want to keep? Chiefs will also need to decide which of the two strikers they want the most. It could go right down to the wire, with Chiefs needing to consider pricing and what they can afford,β the source explained.

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly preparing to make a move for Richards Bay defender Lwandile Mabuya during the offseason. A source close to the club revealed, βYes, itβs true Chiefs have reached out multiple times to discuss Mabuyaβs situation.β
