After celebrating their Nedbank Cup triumph, Nasreddine Nabi’s Kaizer Chiefs are quickly turning their attention to securing a spot in the MTN8. A crucial match this weekend will determine if the Glamour Boys can push toward that goal.

Next Challenge for Amakhosi

As per the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Chiefs are set to hit the road this weekend for a key clash with Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. The match will kick off at 15:00, and Amakhosi are looking to build momentum as they aim for a spot in next season’s MTN8.

Michael Olunga on Kaizer Chiefs’ Radar

While Kaizer Chiefs may have to pass on signing Fiston Mayele from Pyramids FC, they have a strong alternative in mind: Michael Olunga, currently playing for Al-Duhail in Qatar.

An insider revealed to Soccer Laduma that Chiefs are keeping their options open, with Olunga now back in the club’s sights. β€œThey are looking at experienced strikers for the upcoming African competitions, and Olunga is definitely one of them. They are not giving up on him.”

The same source noted that Pyramids FC could be close to extending Mayele’s contract, which, combined with interest from other Egyptian clubs, might make securing him difficult for Chiefs. As a result, Olunga remains a priority alternative if Mayele’s move becomes too complicated.
