Kaizer Chiefs’ recent defeat to Polokwane City has highlighted some of the tactical mistakes in Nasreddine Nabi’s selection for the starting lineup. The Glamour Boys have now suffered three losses in the Premier Soccer League under the Tunisian coach, dropping to ninth position on the log. Following the 2-0 loss to Polokwane City at the Peter Mokoba Stadium, a sports journalist has suggested the changes Nabi should make to his starting XI ahead of their next match against TS Galaxy.
The defeat, with goals from Oswin Appollis and Mokibelo Simon Ramabu, handed Chiefs their third loss of the season in the Betway Premiership, leaving them with just 11 points from eight games. Despite this, there are still opportunities to gather more points in their upcoming fixtures.
Sports analyst Uche Anuma, in an exclusive interview with Briefly News, shared his thoughts on Nabi’s tactical approach, particularly regarding his choice of starting players. “I don’t blame Nabi too much for this loss, but he needs to be more decisive when selecting his next starting lineup,” Anuma explained. “Some new players were brought in during the summer, and while there’s pressure for them to play, I think the trial period is over, and he needs to start making more definitive decisions.”

Anuma specifically recommended that Nabi consider starting Miguel on the bench and give Mfundo a chance to play more regularly as a starter. “Mfundo should be given more game time,” he said. “He hasn’t yet had the opportunity to establish himself as a starter, and it’s time to give him a consistent run in the team.”
Anuma also pointed out that Nabi hasn’t had all the players he requested, and with that in mind, he should continue to assess which players best fit his philosophy ahead of the next transfer window.
Kaizer Chiefsβ next fixture against TS Galaxy will be crucial for their bid to qualify for continental competitions next season. A victory in that match could significantly improve their chances of securing a place in international football.
