Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has reaffirmed his dedication to the club by turning down an offer to take charge of the Tunisia national team. The Tunisian coach revealed that he was approached by his home country to manage the senior menβs team but chose to remain with Amakhosi.
“I was offered the opportunity to coach my country, but after discussions, we decided I will pass on this big opportunity,” Nabi explained, according to iDiski Times. “Itβs an honor to be here at Kaizer Chiefs, and I want to thank everyone in the management for their support.”
Kaizer Chiefs fans have quickly taken a liking to their new Congolese international, Glody Lilepo. The 27-year-old winger made an immediate impact, impressing in his debut against Orlando Pirates and in the 2-2 draw with AmaZulu. Lilepo further solidified his place in the hearts of supporters by scoring a goal against Stellenbosch FC.
“Itβs true that Iβm settling in well,” Lilepo said after being named Man-of-the-Match. “Before joining Chiefs, I spent a few weeks watching their games to get to know the players. When I arrived, I already had a good idea of what to expect from the team.”
With June approaching, Kaizer Chiefs face an important decision regarding the future of Edson Castillo, whose contract expires soon. According to Soccer Laduma, the Egyptian club Zamalek has made a serious inquiry about the 30-year-old midfielder, who Chiefs previously rejected last season.
Sources suggest Chiefs are unlikely to offer Castillo a contract extension, leaving him free to leave. “Itβs now up to Castillo whether Chiefs decide to renew his contract. If Zamalek are serious about signing him, it will depend on discussions between the player and the club,” one insider revealed. Additionally, with the arrival of Thabo Cele and Castillo’s recent injury, this could be a pivotal time for his future at the club.
