Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has finally addressed the ongoing rumors about his potential dismissal from the club.
Despite a tough league season, Nabi led Amakhosi to their first major trophy in 10 years with the Nedbank Cup victory. However, speculation about his future has been rampant, especially with reports suggesting that he could leave at the end of the season.
Nabi, who still has one year left on his contract, admitted that he was also caught off guard by these rumors but remains focused on finishing the season strong. He emphasized that his primary concern is guiding Chiefs through their remaining two matches to secure a top-eight finish.
βIβm very surprised by these rumors because right now, Iβm fully focused on the two upcoming games,β Nabi told Radio947. βWe need to make sure we finish in the top eight, and I donβt want to lose the momentum the Cup win has brought us.β
The Tunisian coach also reassured fans that heβs not worried about his contract. “I still have a contract, and thereβs no need to discuss that now. Kaizer Chiefs is my family, and I have a job to do. For now, I want to enjoy the success weβve had.”
Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has remained vague about the situation, stating that the club will review the entire season before making any decisions.
