Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze was noticeably absent during the team’s heavy 4-1 defeat to SuperSport United on Tuesday night. The 45-year-old Burundian, who joined the club in October 2024 after Fernando Da Cruz’s departure, had to miss the match due to health reasons.

Kaze’s absence was later explained by reports, which confirmed that he had been hospitalized after falling ill over the weekend. While the club did not officially disclose the reason for his absence, it’s understood that Kaze is currently recovering.

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs fans are feeling anxious about their upcoming clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld. Sundowns are in dominant form, having extended their lead at the top of the Betway Premiership to nine points, with their recent 4-1 victory over Orlando Pirates adding to the pressure.

Amidst these concerns, Chiefs supporters are calling for the club to make an emergency signing to strengthen their squad for the showdown with Sundowns. They are urging the club to hijack Bafana Bafana legend Thulani Serero, currently a free agent and set to sign with Cape Town City, to bolster their midfield. Fans are hoping for Serero to partner Thabo Cele in the midfield against Sundowns, with many believing the move could be a game-changer for Chiefs in their battle for supremacy.
