Kaizer Chiefs have finalized a deal with Libyan club Al-Ittihad for the transfer of defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe.
Ditlhokwe, who is also the captain of Botswana’s national team, the Zebras, joined Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of the 2023/24 season from SuperSport United. Over his 18-month stay with the club, he made 32 appearances, primarily playing as a left-sided center-back and occasionally as a left-back under coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Known affectionately as ‘TT,’ the 26-year-old’s final game for Amakhosi was last Friday, where he featured in their 1-0 victory over Stellenbosch. He is now set to head to Tripoli, Libya, where he will meet his new teammates and coaches.

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., shared that the decision was a difficult one: “When Al-Ittihad approached us regarding TT, it wasn’t easy. We spoke with the player, and he expressed his desire to move to Libya for further opportunities and experience. We didn’t want to stand in his way and appreciate his professionalism and discipline. While we’ll miss him, we believe this is a great opportunity for him, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
