The Junior Springboks are gearing up for their U20 Rugby Championship campaign, and there’s plenty of excitement surrounding the team as fans eagerly await to see the next generation of rugby stars in action.
With their preparations now in the final stages, the Junior Boks are ready to face some of the best junior teams in the world, and theyβre keen to make a strong impression. According to coaching consultant Johan Ackermann, the team is focused on refining their set pieces as they prepare for tough competition. Ackermann, alongside assistant coach Lumumba Currie, has been working with the forwards to ensure theyβre up to the challenge.
The Junior Springboks will kick off their tournament next Thursday, facing Argentina at 16:10, right after the opening match between New Zealand and Australia at 14:00. Ackermann emphasized the significance of the competition and expressed his enthusiasm for being in the Eastern Cape, a region known for its strong rugby culture. He praised the team’s eagerness to learn and their excitement for the challenge ahead.
