Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro is attracting serious interest from North Africa as he prepares to bid farewell to the Soweto giants at the end of the season.

The Spaniard, who has lifted five trophies in just three seasons, could still add two more to his collection before he departs. With the Nedbank Cup final against rivals Kaizer Chiefs coming up on May 10, and the Buccaneers still mathematically in the race for the DStv Premiership title with two games in hand, Riveiro’s farewell tour might end on a high.

Top North African Clubs Want Riveiro

According to inside reports, Egyptian heavyweights Al Ahly have made a lucrative offer to secure Riveiro’s services. β€œHe’s seriously considering it,” a source said, hinting that the deal is highly likely.

Meanwhile, Moroccan champions Wydad AC are also monitoring the situation closely, seeing Riveiro as a top candidate to take over from Rulani Mokwena, who is expected to leave the club.

Could Pitso Mosimane Make a Comeback?

On the local front, Orlando Pirates are believed to be eyeing a sensational reunion with Pitso Mosimane, the iconic former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns coach.

However, Mosimane has poured cold water on the rumours β€” for now. β€œI’ve seen the talk, but nobody has contacted me,” he told reporters. Still, he left the door open, saying, β€œWhy not? It must be the right project and the right time.”
