Zwane, 35, has enjoyed an illustrious career, winning countless domestic titles and international glory, including a CAF Champions League title in 2016. However, his current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and Sundowns have yet to offer him a renewal. The situation has caught the attention of Kaizer Chiefs, who are reportedly monitoring his situation closely.
Themba Zwane has been sidelined since October due to an Achilles injury, which may have affected Sundowns’ decision to delay his contract extension. This leaves the door open for Chiefs to potentially sign the player, following their recent trend of bringing in experienced stars from the Chloorkop side.
With only five months left on Zwane’s current contract, Chiefs could be tempted to add him to their squad. If they do, he would join the ranks of players like Josta Dladla, Katlego Mphela, Leonardo Castro, Khama Billiat, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, and Gaston Sirino, all of whom made the move from Sundowns to Chiefs as free agents.
