Dr. Irvin Khoza has been re-elected as the Chairman of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) without opposition, securing another four-year term in office. The 76-year-old will continue to lead the PSL in Parktown, after serving in the role for over two decades. Khoza was the only candidate nominated for the chairmanβs position during the National Soccer League elections held on Wednesday afternoon.
In addition to Khozaβs re-election, the seven other members of the PSL executive committee were confirmed. These include well-known figures in South African football such as Dr. Kaizer Motaung, Mato Madlala, Rejoice Simelane, Abram Sello, Stanley Matthews, Johnny Mogaladi, and Sandile Zungu.
A total of 11 nominations were made for the PSL executive board, but only seven members could be elected. The final members chosen to serve on the new executive board include Jomo Biyela, Mato Madlala, Stan Matthews, Johnny Mogaladi, Kaizer Motaung, Rejoice Simelane, and Tim Sukazi. Meanwhile, John Comitis and Robert Benadie were not selected for the new executive committee.
