Mamelodi Sundowns’ star attacker, Gaston Sirino, has named Lucas Ribeiro as his pick for Player of the Season, praising his teammate’s incredible contributions.
According to Sirino, Ribeiro, who has scored 13 goals and provided 7 assists this season, has been the standout player in South African football.
“Without a doubt, Lucas Ribeiro is a top player, and he’s also a good friend of mine,” Sirino told Soccer Laduma. “The numbers speak for themselves. He’s been exceptional in every game, and Sundowns are thriving because of him. I believe he is the best player in South Africa right now, and he definitely deserves the Player of the Season award.”
With Sundowns also preparing for their CAF Champions League final against Egypt’s Pyramids FC, all eyes are now on the first leg in Tshwane on May 24, with the second leg scheduled for June 1 in Cairo.
