Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe is on the lookout for a new club after parting ways with Richards Bay. The 32-year-old, who hails from Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal, made just eight appearances over seven months with Richards Bay before his departure. It was reported that tensions with the coaching staff led to his release.

Reflecting on his exit, Sithebe explained the situation to FARPost, saying, “As a senior player, sometimes you step up when things aren’t going well, but you don’t expect it to end like this. After a loss, I felt the coaches’ decisions could’ve been better, so I expressed my thoughts in the changing room, which led to this outcome.”

Tashreeq Morris Joins Kaizer Chiefs in Search of New Forward Option

Kaizer Chiefs have secured the services of 30-year-old striker Tashreeq Morris from SuperSport United to bolster their attack. Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi was in urgent need of a target man, and Morris fit the bill perfectly. Morris’ transfer followed Christian Saile’s move in the opposite direction to SuperSport United.

SuperSport United chairman Stan Matthews explained the decision to let Morris go, stating, “Morris came to us with an offer from Kaizer Chiefs that we simply couldn’t match. While we couldn’t offer him anywhere near what Chiefs did, I had to be practical and allow him to take the opportunity.”

Matthews also noted that SuperSport already had other options like Samir Nurkovic and Bradley Grobler, who, although talented, lacked the pace that Morris and Saile could bring. “Morris gives us the speed and versatility that we were missing, and that’s something I needed to consider,” Matthews concluded.
