Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan, who has worked closely with some of the biggest stars in the PSL, including Player of the Year Patrick Maswanganyi, has raised concerns about Kaizer Chiefs potentially signing Sipho Mbule and Thembinkosi Lorch, even if both players were available for free.
Khan, speaking on the Soccer Beat podcast, advised the club to be cautious. βRight now, Kaizer Chiefs need to focus on maintaining team unity. I wouldn’t recommend signing Mbule and Lorch, even if they were free,β Khan stated. βThey are talented players, but their off-field issues could disrupt the team dynamic and influence what happens on the pitch.β
While Khanβs advice is clear, Chiefs’ history suggests they may find it hard to pass up on the opportunity.
Kaizer Chiefs Secure Young Talent with Long-Term Deal for Naledi Hlongwane
In other news, Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly secured a major signing for the future. According to inside sources, promising young striker Naledi Hlongwane has agreed to a five-year contract with the club.
The 19-year-old has been impressive this season, scoring 11 goals, and caught the eye during last year’s Carling All-Stars match against Magesi. βThe deal is practically done,β a source revealed. βIt was initially proposed as a three-year contract, but the club decided they needed to keep him for the long haul, so a five-year deal was finalized.β
It seems like this exciting new addition to the Chiefs squad is all but confirmed.
