Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that one player will be a guaranteed starter in their upcoming Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Heading into the London derby on the back of four consecutive victories, including a dominant 5-1 win over Southampton on December 4, Chelsea will be eager to extend their winning streak. Currently sitting second in the Premier League with 28 points from 14 matches, the Blues are level on points with local rivals Arsenal.

The highly anticipated clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium promises to be another thrilling encounter between the two sides, known for their recent dramatic matchups. When asked about his starting lineup, Maresca revealed that goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is the only player assured of starting in goal. He stated, “That day we are going to play Sanchez and 10 other players. The only one that is sure is Sanchez.” Sanchez has been a fixture in the Premier League this season, playing every match and earning three clean sheets before Chelsea’s victory over Southampton. Meanwhile, Filip Jorgensen, who impressed in Chelsea’s midweek win, has mostly featured in the Conference League and League Cup.

Maresca also mentioned Cole Palmer as another player likely to start, following a strong showing in recent games. On the other hand, winger Noni Madueke has been in the spotlight after scoring his first goal for Chelsea since October against Southampton. However, Maresca reminded the 22-year-old to continue pushing his limits, highlighting that his absence from the squad for the Aston Villa match should serve as motivation for improvement.

As Chelsea looks to continue their strong form, Maresca’s team selection will be key in ensuring they remain competitive in this exciting London derby.
