In a blow to Kaizer Chiefs’ transfer ambitions, Orlando Pirates have reportedly secured the signature of sought-after Marumo Gallants midfielder Masindi Nemtajela.

The 23-year-old playmaker has been on the radar of both Soweto giants, but it now seems Pirates have won the race. According to FARPost, an agreement in principle has been reached between Nemtajela and the Buccaneers.

Pirates are said to have offered the young midfielder a five-year contract, with the deal expected to be finalized soon after his representatives review the offer.

This latest development adds to the growing list of exciting transfer moves involving Orlando Pirates, who are also closing in on signing 29-year-old Stellenbosch midfielder Sihle Nduli. Nduli has featured 23 times this season but has accumulated nine yellow cards, something to keep an eye on.

With these moves, Pirates look determined to strengthen their squad significantly, leaving Chiefs to reconsider their midfield recruitment plans.
