Orlando Pirates legend Lebohang “Cheeseboy” Mokoena believes Monnapule Saleng is receiving poor advice regarding his career.

The 26-year-old winger has not featured for the Buccaneers in over two months, and Mokoena revealed that he has tried multiple times to reach out to him without success. “I’ve been trying to get hold of him, but he hasn’t answered or gotten back to me,” Mokoena shared on SoccerBeat. “I even checked his social media to send him a message, asking him to call me so we could talk. People are asking me about him, and I’m concerned.”

Mokoena mentioned that the last time he checked Saleng’s Facebook, he saw a picture of him at a farm, surrounded by chickens and cows, and noticed that the people in the picture didn’t appear to be football-related. “What kind of advice is he getting from these people?” Mokoena questioned.

Mokoena believes that Saleng is surrounded by the wrong influences and advised the winger to approach Orlando Pirates directly to resolve any issues. “The advice I would give him is clear – if you’re unhappy, whether it’s about not getting the opportunity to move overseas or your salary, the best thing is to talk to the club. If they don’t understand, the answer is simple: get back onto the field and show them your worth,” he added.

As of now, Orlando Pirates have not made any public statements about Saleng’s situation.
